« Here, nature makes all the decisions. She makes the wine. We are merely gardeners who respect the work of art drawn out by time, we know that none of it is our creation. We have simply added a little of our own invention, we have planted and nurtured the land. We have been here for 35 years, but la Verrerie is 100 years old, 1,000 years old, 10,000 years old. And all of eternity lies ahead of it. »
Christopher Descours, owner of Château la Verrerie.
WHERE TWO WORLDS CONVERGE
Château la Verrerie stands within the Luberon parc naturel régional. It's just a few miles from Lourmarin, one of Provence’s most beautiful villages. To the north there are the wines of the Cotes du Rhone, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape; and to the south, the Cotes de Provence vineyards. And running through it is the Luberon massif terroir. This outstanding location is expressed through the red, white, and rose wines of the Domaine. The different cuvees reflect the beauty of Provence, and are made in the purest Rhone Valley tradition.

Château la Verrerie stands on the exact location where prehistoric wine vats were found to have been carved out of the rock, and date back 4,000 years. And before deciding to devote itself entirely to viticulture, la Verrerie also crafted glass. As its name suggests (verre means glass in French).
