A sensitive and beautifully sculpted expression of Luberon Syrah. Made up of two colours: ruby red and raspberry pink. Both offer structure, depth, freshness, generosity, and finesse. And their complexity makes them a treat for various fine dining experiences.
And a treat for guests too.
  1. Grand Deffand Red

    Grand Deffand Red

The best of the la Verrerie fruit basket is found in this prestige cuvee. At the peak of ripeness and perfectly balanced, these wines are made from grapes that grow on the upper slopes of this treasured vineyard, perched above the rock whose inner natural archways are home to an underground chapel. And from here springs the pure water that nourishes the plump black fruit. The pure and silky tannins resonate with the mineral aromas of pencil lead and a fresh bouquet of spring violets.

Frank, enveloping, fairly powerful and smooth. The attack brings beautiful ripe fruit. It evolves generously with rich substance.
Deep ruby appearance with purple-violet glints and a bluish rim.
Subtle, distinguished and elegant. From juicy black berry notes, liquorice, and violet, aromas evolve towards typical Rhône complexity with spices, aromatic herbs, cedar and juniper. The wine then moves on to express smoked, grilled and toasted notes, with hints of minerality and saline notes.
  2. Grand Deffand Rose

    Grand Deffand Rose

    Syrah - grenache - bourboulenc
A rare jewel. A fine dining scarlet rose made using the saignée technique, taken from the noble juices of its sibling Grand Deffand, with which the best of the la Verrerie Grenaches and the tangy gourmet flavours of white Bourboulenc grapes have been combined. The best fruit is rigorously selected and painstaking care is taken with the gentle saignée process to unfurl the deliciously refined character expressed through the dialogue between its slightly candied strawberry whipped notes and delicate tile-red colour. Suggestions of the setting sun can be seen in its antique appearance, while autumn-imbued accords are released from this fine rose that exudes the pure and subtle twilight mood of Turner's Dido building Carthage.

    2017 Vintage
A fantastic rose for food, with a well-structured and generous body, livened with multiple layers of freshness.
Bright and clear raspberry appearance with fairly pronounced coral glints.
Expressive and generous with spice and garrigue tones, touches of dried flowers, fennel and very ripe red berries.
